Last weekend we had some fantastic weather. The sun was shining and it was very hot. We decided to head over to the Yealm on Saturday with the intention of stopping off at Cellar Bay so the kiddies could have a swim in the sea. Continue reading “A Day at Cellar Bay”
Last weekend we decided to head more inland as the weather wasn’t great for coastal cruising. One of our favourite places to go is up to Calstock in Cornwall on the River Tamar. Continue reading “An Adventure in the Tamar Valley”
We were really lucky to have some fantastic weather in April so we made the most of it by going away most weekends on the boat.
One particular weekend we went over to the Yealm. We picked the kids up from school on Friday and we went straight down to the boat. We spent the evening on our mooring and put our new bbq to the test. Continue reading “Fun on the River Yealm”
Last weekend we had our first weekend away on Morveren, our new boat. We decided to head up towards Calstock in Cornwall. We haven’t been able to go up there for the last two years as Oblivion, our previous boat had a deep draft and it can get very shallow up the river. Even after living in Devon for nearly 6 years now we still haven’t seen half of what this beautiful county has to offer. Our excuse is that it’s a huge area and one of the largest counties in England.

A lot of these places are tucked away and can be very hard to get too, so only really for people that are up for a challenge! Continue reading “10 Hidden Gems to Visit in Devon”
I think every sailor has their favourite anchorages, one on our list is definitely Fowey in Cornwall. We generally sail from the River Yealm to Fowey in one go and on average it takes us about 4 hours, although we did sail straight from Fowey to our home port once which took around 9 hours! That was far too long for the kiddies and puppy and will not be repeated! Continue reading “10 Things to Do in Fowey Cornwall”
One thing that we are never without on our travels is our camera. We invested in a ‘big camera’ when the children were born, to help us capture memories of them growing up. It wasn’t cheap but it was worth every penny. Continue reading “How to Transform your Travel Photos into Keepsakes”
Last year I made a vow to myself that I would visit at least one new country every year. This may sound fairly easy to the die-hard travellers out there but when you have two kiddies, a partner that won’t fly and a dog with severe anxiety issues it’s certainly easier said than done! Continue reading “Why you Should go on an Evening River Cruise in Budapest”
We thought we’d do a bit of an update of how we are getting on with the new boat. We bought her in August and if you remember from our past post she was basically just a shell.
I have a confession to make most years I am rubbish at sending Christmas cards, some years I think I’m on top of it, I buy and write the cards, get them all ready and then forget to post them in time. Other years I have just forgotten altogether. This year however I’m determined to do it! Continue reading “How to Create the Perfect Personalised Christmas Cards”
